Attending the Catholic Leaders Symposium… truly a unique opportunity affording us the double benefit of coming together with the focus on services centered on the elderly population and at the same time the chance to do so with leaders who share a common mission and commitment to Catholic Healthcare.
Karen Reich, Bon Secours Mercy Health System
The Catholic Leaders Symposium is clearly one of the best parts of attending the Leading Age Conference. It provides those engaged in Senior Care an opportunity to network with other mission-centered organizations, sharing best practice and wisdom. As a member of a congregation of women religious that is dealing with the challenges of senior care and facilities, this forum has been key to the successful progress we are making in finding a partner that shares and embraces mission as it provides care for our sisters and others in the future.
Kate Hendel BVM, Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary
I was very impressed with the breadth and diversity of knowledge and experience shared at this Symposium by some of the best Catholic sponsored communities in the country. The audience of senior leaders from many of the national provider ministries also gave me the rare opportunity to network and strategize with like-minded peers who share common values in service to our aging population. I was inspired and energized after the day of interaction.
Tim Dressman, CHI Living Communities
By bringing together leaders from religious institutes and professionals in Catholic senior care and services, the symposium gives a wonderful opportunity listen to and learn from each other. I found the conversations stimulating, opening doors to new possibilities for meeting challenges and networking—a very enriching experience for me which I highly recommend for others!
Julia Lanigan GNSH, Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart
The Catholic Leaders’ Symposium prior to the Leading Age Conference was a powerful educational and networking event. The days were carefully packed with presentations by persons and groups who are meeting the challenges of senior health care needs in today’s milieu through creative and innovative collaborations despite rising costs and aging facilities. It was a fabulous way to rub shoulders and meet others who have a common mission and a willingness to share ideas and give a helping hand rather than a competitive shoulder. I am definitely looking forward to the next gathering.
Nathalie Meyer OP, Grand Rapids Dominican Sisters
The Catholic Leaders’ Symposium is a wonderful opportunity for Catholic leaders to come together in a collaborative way to meet the challenges we are all facing in health care.
Paul MacGiffert, The Carmelite System
The coming together of people representing organizations with needs, resources and experiences in Catholic senior living provides a significant opportunity for religious congregations who are facing intertwined issues of eldercare, finances and properties. The symposium is “right-sized” for both richness of content and the opportunity to enter into meaningful conversation with presenters and other attendees. With confidence I recommend the symposium to representatives of religious congregations as well as to those providing services with the potential for supporting them.
Maxyne Schneider SSJ, Sisters of St. Joseph of Springfield, MA
The Catholic Leaders’ Symposium provides a place to explore how Catholic senior living ministries are responding to the larger trends impacting senior living, especially given the unique nature and parameters of a Catholic ministry.
